2025-26 Information for Families
New Elementary location
Starting fall 2025, ACES Tech will be one school with two locations.
- Grades K-5: 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110
- Grades 6-9: 4501 Montgomery Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109
School Registration
First time students only. After a parent accepts their NEW student's seat for the fall, they will receive the fall registration email. Please complete the registration online forms using PowerSchool. We cannot give a student a school schedule in the system until the registration process is complete. Remember that parents of any returning students do not have to complete the registration again.
School Calendar (Download below)
The annual school calendar is the same for all grades. All students will have daily class from 8am - 3:40pm. This will keep things much more consistent for all parents and students. Our school year is 190 days long. ALL students, in all grades, will report to school on August 4th for their 8am class. Dismissal is at 3:25pm for elementary (Lomas location) and 3:40pm for secondary (Montgomery location).
Uniform Polo Shirts
All students receive two polo shirts for free. Additional polo shirts can be purchased for $15 each. Cash only please as we do not have a credit card machine. It is important that you bring your student with you when you purchase shirts. Parents very often get the size wrong so they must try it on. Our shirt supplier is working to complete the shirts. They should be in by mid-next week. We are ordering a wide range of sizes for each color. We will order more if we run out of any given size.
The uniform shirt pickup windows at BOTH locations: Lomas for grades K-5 and Montgomery for grade 6 and up.
Thursday, July 31, from 3pm - 6pm
Friday, August 1, from 3pm - 6pm
Dress Code (Download below)
The dress code guidance document is attached. Please note that we expect students to strictly adhere to the dress code. We also expect parents to support the school in this endeavor to ensure that the focus is on learning, not fashion. Students will not be allowed to attend classes while out of dress code, and we will be calling parents and asking them to bring appropriate clothing to the school for their students. The two primary issues historically have been 1) shoes need to be black and 2) no hoodies are allowed in the school, only crewneck sweatshirts with no pockets. Black gym shoes, with black or white sole, are fine. Crewneck college sweatshirts, such as U of New Mexico, New Mexico State U, U of Michigan, UCLA, etc., are encouraged to promote a college readiness culture.
Cell Phone Policy
Students are NOT allowed to use cell phones on the school premises during school hours. There are no exceptions to this rule. Students are allowed to carry cell phones to school, for the sole purpose of communicating with a parent at dismissal. Phones are to be turned off and stored in their backpacks; otherwise left at home. If a cell phone is seen or heard by a teacher, thus disrupting the learning environment, it will be confiscated. If a student refuses to give their cell phone to a teacher, the principal WILL intervene and the parent will be contacted. The goal at ACES Tech is to focus on learning, not disruptions.
School Supply List (Download below)
Our annual school supply list is attached. You will notice that there are both individual and shared items. Shared items will be given to the elementary or secondary advisory teacher and shared by all students throughout the school year.
Please do not feel that you have to send the student to school with ALL of their supplies each day. It is better that they keep many of the items at home until needed. Teachers will inform students when they need particular tools, and we also have lots of supplies available for students on site. They will be fine even if they mistakenly leave a supply item at home.
School Supply Donations
If any parent wants to donate additional items to the school, such as Kleenex, paper towels, packs of paper, pencils, etc., please have students bring them to the office during the first week of class. The staff member at the front door may also have a box for these items. THANK YOU in advance for school supply donations!
Transportation - School Bus Routes (Download below)
ACES Tech will run three school buses again this year. Our bus partner is Herrera Bus company, and I work with them to determine the yearly routes. Please make sure you have completed the registration forms and indicated that you want your child to ride the bus. I will assume that returning students will continue to ride.
I have attached the initial bus routes, which are the same as last year's. The goal is to reach the most students with the fewest stops, so that the route is practical in length and time. Routes are seldom changed to accommodate individual students. Parents can provide input for additional or adjusted stops, but must understand that all requests will not lead to a change.
Bus Question 1: Is it possible for my child to ride the bus to OR from school, but not both ways? YES.
Bus Question 2: Is it possible for my child to get picked up and dropped off at two DIFFERENT stops? YES. I will just need the parent to let us know if they want to take advantage of this flexibility once the year starts.
School Open Houses
The next open houses are scheduled for Thursday and Friday of next week, 5pm - 6pm. Feel free to invite others who are interested in our school. Note that these times intentionally overlap with the school polo pickup times.
Thursday, July 31, from 5pm - 6pm
Friday, August 1, from 5pm - 6pm
Note: Parents will not be allowed to come to the classrooms on the first day of school. Every student must be dropped off at the door. We want to get classes started as close to on time as possible. Thank you for understanding.
After School Programming
ACES Tech offers after-school care from 4-6pm. I worked to obtain grant funds this year to cover the costs of after-school care, thus we should be able to make it free for all families. We will have two overall groups of students, those who leave at random times before 6pm and those who stay the entire time. The students who stay until 6pm will have the option to sign up for instructor-led programs/clubs, such as chess and robotics.
After School will begin on August 11, the second week of school.
